Analyzing Polyethylene Terephthalate Bottle Waste Technology Using an Analytic Hierarchy Process for Developing Countries: A Case Study from Indonesia

PET bottle waste is easy to recycle because it separate, abundant, and competitively priced. Technologies for the treatment of have been evaluated date by using life cycle assessment (LCA), but this does not take into account all aspects that policymakers consider necessary when selecting an acceptable technology. Aspects such as society, economics, policies, technical applicability need be considered along with environment resource consumption complement LCA results waste. These were selected criteria analytical hierarchy process (AHP), stakeholders invited make a comparison evaluation sub-criteria. Academics involved compare technology options. The show society highest priority main actor ensures application technology, job creation most important indicator selection in criteria. After comparing open landfills, sanitary incineration energy recovery, pelletizing, glycolysis, hydrolysis utilization waste, study suggests pelletizing Indonesia dominant sub-criteria which support sustainability management. This first time single plastic fraction collect has studied AHP. type could also reused developing countries through mechanical recycling.
